For removing outer die-cut waste from stacks of paper and cartonboard blanks, microflute, corrugated board and suitable corrugated plastic sheets, particularly twin-wall polypropylene sheets. The appropriate tool version depends on the material and the width of the waste sections. Laminated sheets can also be processed.
In our experience, materials with a grammage of around 100 g/m² or more can be processed. Suitability depends on the material, die-cutting and the width of the die-cut waste.
AWEX-T4 is our most powerful model, with a 650 W pneumatic motor. It is suitable for regular, larger and thicker waste sections requiring particularly high pressure, and also covers the applications of AWEX-T3 and AWEX-T2. The toothed chain is 20 mm wide.
Toothed chain for predominantly corrugated board applications
For predominantly corrugated board applications, AWEX-T3 and AWEX-T4 can be supplied with the special type T2W toothed chain instead of the standard type T2 chain. This also applies to their 2hand versions. Please specify your material when enquiring.

Operation
Both levers must be pressed to run a model with two-handed operation. Releasing either lever stops the tool.
How it works and preparation
The outer waste edge must be divided into sections by relief cuts, as shown in the schematic. These cuts can be incorporated into the respective cutting dies. The waste edge must be at least 8 mm wide for cartonboard and microflute, and at least 20 mm wide for corrugated board.
The rotating hardened toothed chain removes outer die-cut waste section by section directly from the stack. The blanks remain in their stacked order. The chrome-plated chain guard guides the tool along the stack and protects the blanks. Refer to the supplied operating manual for the precise procedure and all safety instructions.
Reducing the number of holding nicks to the necessary minimum can significantly speed up waste stripping.
Compressed air supply and maintenance
The professional Atlas Copco air motor is robust and requires little maintenance. An upstream compressed air filter-regulator-lubricator unit is essential: it removes water from the compressed air and then supplies oil to the motor. Inadequate lubrication can cause the motor vanes to break within a short time.
Included items and connection
The tool is supplied ready for connection with a quick-release coupling for a hose with a 9 mm internal diameter. Chain replacement tools and an operating manual in German or English, including a spare parts list, are included. AWEX-T3 and AWEX-T4 are supplied with a safety quick-release coupling.
Depending on availability, the finish may be yellow, grey or red. Please discuss any preferred colour with us when enquiring.
Toothed chain compatibility
On-site conversion from the narrow 8 mm toothed chain to the wider 20 mm chain, or vice versa, is not technically possible. Replacing chains of the same width and any more extensive modification are separate matters; please ask us about the appropriate solution for your tool.
